Rector of ESSUTM - Vladimir Evgenievich Saktoev

Vladimir Evgenievich Saktoev was born on September, 12th, 1956 in Ulan-Ude. He has graduated from the East Siberian Institute of Technology in 1979 with a degree in electrical engineering. As a young, talented expert he has been left on the chair for scientific and pedagogical work and further study.

V.E.Saktoev has passed all steps of office growth – from the young research assistant to the rector of one of the largest high schools of Siberia and the Far East. Working as a leader of the chair for «Electrical supply of the industrial enterprises» in 1990-1992, he has brought the considerable contribution to development of its material resources, perfection of educational process, strengthening of relations with manufacture.

As the first vice-rector (1992-1994.) he has spent purposeful work in preparation of all structural divisions of high school for the first state certification. After passage of all necessary procedures the high school has got the status of the state university.

In 1997 V.E.Saktoev was elected Rector of the university, and in 2002 he was reelected for new term.

Vladimir Evgenevich continued to be engaged in scientific researches. He is the author of more than fifty scientific publications, four monographies.

Vladimir Evgenevich Saktoev is Doctor of Economics, Professor.

He actively participates in political life, he is the deputy of the National Khural of the Republic of Buryatia of last two convocations, a member of parliamentary Committee in economic policy, a councilor in personnel policy at the President of the Republic of Buryatia, a councilor at the President of the Republic of Buryatia in sustainable development, a member of scientific and technical council at the Republic of Buryatia Government.

Vladimir Evgenevich is selected as a corresponding member of the Engineering academy, a corresponding member of the Siberian branch of Academy of Sciences of the higher school, he heads the Buryat regional branch of SB AS HS. He is the chairman of the council of rectors of high schools of the republic, a member of Presidiums of Association of engineering education and Association of technical universities of Russia.

Vladimir Saktoev is honored worker of science of the Republic of Buryatia, honored with medal «For merits before Fatherland» II degree, breast token «Honorable worker of the higher vocational training of the Russian Federation».
